Technical Writer: Level 1
Responsibilities:
- Handles small to medium-sized writing assignments, meeting client due dates.
- Develops clear and accurate user documentation based on business requirements.
- Edit, standardize, or makes changes to materials prepared by others.
- Recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods.
- Maintains records and files of work and revisions.
Experience:
- Minimal client industry or line of business experience.
- Minimal knowledge of the subject matter.
- Less than 3 years of technical writing experience.
- Experience with modifying and creating small to medium-sized writing assignments such as technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
- Basic Technical Writing Certification or equivalent.
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite.
Technical Writer: Level 2
Responsibilities:
- Handles medium to large-sized writing assignments, meeting client due dates.
- Analyzes business requirements to understand the impact on documents across the organization and can accurately inventory impacted documents.
- Edit, standardize, or makes changes to materials prepared by others.
- Recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods.
- Adheres to client standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- May lead and direct the work of others.
Experience:
- Worked in client industry or line of business experience.
- Good knowledge of the subject matter.
- 3-6 years of technical writing experience.
- Experience with modifying and creating medium to large-sized writing assignments such as technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
- Undergraduate level degree and/or Technical Writing Certification or equivalent.
- Intermediate level expertise with Microsoft Office, electronic publishing, and authoring software.
- Direct or indirect people management.
Technical Writer: Level 3
Responsibilities:
- Handles large size or multiple writing assignments/projects simultaneously, including setting and meeting due dates.
- Analyzes business requirements to understand impacts on documents across the organization.
- Engages other policy and procedure teams as required, and facilitates cross-functional efforts.
- Develops clear and accurate user documentation based on business requirements without direction.
- Edit, standardize, or makes changes to materials prepared by others.
- Creates or revises/updates documentation methodology and framework of client standards regarding order, clarity, style, and terminology.
- May lead and direct the work of others. May train and mentor less experienced team members on tools, processes, and business functions.
Experience:
- An in-depth career in the client industry or line of business.

7+years of technical writing experience.

Experience with modifying and creating large-sized or multiple simultaneous writing assignments such as technical articles, reports, brochures, and/or manuals for documentation for a wide range of uses.
